Wow, this is the most disappoint purchase I have made on GOG yet. I cant even get it to run on vista and apparently others cant as well.

I do have the same problem, I think.
After trying to start the game, nothing happens. Checking the task-mamanger I see a soulbringer.exe as 'Process' but not as an application running.
My system (taken from dxdiag)

Having the same issue. I messed around with it and it eventually got to a setup window when I activated it in compatibility mode for Windows 95... but then whenever i click play it loads a window with the caption

"Soulbringer: Build WIP 20..."

saying

"Fatal Error
Exiting..."

The game seems interesting, so I'd like to play... has anyone had any luck with a fix?

Anyone hear anything on this? I can't get the game to start either.

Unfortunately no updates from GOG support yet.
I'm fortunate enough to have a laptop that it runs fine on, but was hoping to stream it which kind of calls for my main rig.

i'll tell you what:

1. could not run soulbringer, windows7 x64, all the symptoms (have soulbringer in task list)
2. then i opened folder where i installed Soulbringer, click-click (aka double-click, aka enter, aka execute) . Startup options window shows up
3. go to video -> driver-> "Dx6 AMD Radeon HD blah blah" (your driver selection may vary)

then it starts ok. seems software driver does not work

if your textures look strange - try advanced -> texture alignment

The shortcut brings me to this options screen, but the game will not start.

This might not actually help anyone but... I have this problem on Windows 7 64-bit with several older games. When starting the game, "nothing happens" and the application shows in Task Manager. The solution for me is to just start it again. Start the game twice, that is.

same here (win 7 64 bit). not starting up at all only the process shows in the task manager. i've tried all the standard solutions from support page and suggested workarounds on the forum but nothing seems to work.

i really hope someone actually IS looking into this :/

Exactly the same here. Shows in task manager but doesn't start. Very disappointed as this is a great game.

Also having this problem, game won't start, Soulbringer.exe process is active in the taskmanager but nothing happens, compatibility modes and running as admin is useless as usual.
As a curious note, Avast screamed that there was a virus during installation, had to turn Avast off just to install this (dutch version) and still puts Soulbringer.exe in the locker when it gets the chance.

i also have radeon hd 6770, and i suspect graphic card might be an issue, found mentioned some problems with catalyst removing support for older versions of directx.

and i doubt antivirus is the real problem (have you tried install and play with antivirus (and internet) off? i tried btw, did nothing for me...
