Just finished it, amazing game with one of the best endings ever! Highly recommended!!

My only gripes is, it was way too easy to complete ihmo. Essentially the game had no serious puzzles, and the great physics engine was largely unused throughout the game (unlike in previous Frictional Games titles). So it felt really more like an interactive movie, not a bad thing- just thought the game could have been yet better!

Anyone else felt the same way?
No, not really. It's actually one of the reasons why I'm such a fan of Frictional. I have played enough Adventure-games to know that puzzles are often just roadblocks that pull me out of the atmosphere. Of course, I'm sure that some games do puzzles in a way as to be logical and to be built into the environment properly, but far too often it's just about providing some kind of gameplay. Unfortunately the solution often seems rather random and extremely inflexible. Missed some item somewhere or didn't talk to people in exactly the right order? No progress, no alternatives. I find this extremely frustrating and frequently unbelievable.

I prefer the focus on making everything as believable as possible and to build everything more according to believability.

I somewhat agree on the game being a bit too much of an interactive movie though. Still, having a game like "Gone Home" as a big influence certainly isn't the worst way to do it. But admittedely, gameplay is an area where I expected Frictional to innovate a bit more. Still, it's hard to imagine how to do that without veering into the territoy of "gaminess" again.

I am finding the game hasn't really grabbed me just yet. I started playing it on the back of finishing alien: isolation which I really liked, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I like the control system and how you feel like your meaningfully interacting with the game rather than everything just being "click to do". I also like how your not constantly being hounded by enemies so you can think abit more and take more in.

I am up to theta now so hopefully it grips me more as i head beyond there.
