@GOG Team: Could you please look into and release a patch/hot fix for SOF 2, which fix the damage config file(s)? That would be awesome.

edit: ok I just re-installed the game, now it works fine with full gore and without any password/parental lock etc..maybe a config file was broken or few changes in graphic settings made it less gory. At the end it works.

The parental lock is deactivat in the option, but i have full violence in the SP campaigne! (german version)

Everything is working fine here, downloaded/installed via Galaxy, then played the game through the .exe in the install directory (galaxy not running)

I am on Win10, no antivirus running (known to cause problems in my experience),admin privileges, UAC set to off

Have no problems, full violence/gore, I don't even have the violence lock setting on the main menu, Gore setting in advanced is set to excessive.

Just finished the first level and just now installed widescreen fixes and a couple of mods, ran the game and the violence gore are still working perfectly

The parental lock menu is avalible in the Multiplayer Mode as default. In the single player you have to enter menu lock in the Console. For me the full gore was already there after starting it for the first time and it even stays when I switch to the german language

Yeah, here too. I think I remember it depends on how you install SOF2. If you install it in german you get the censored version. If you install in english, the uncensored. I installed in english and switched to german. It stays uncut. Blood, gore, bulletholes etc. are all visible.

When installing it on Galaxy I had no language choice because the languages can be only switched in-game. Anyway I set my OS Language to "German (Luxembourg)"

thats actually kinda weird. i am a german, and to get the uncensored version, i imported the uk-version of sof dh. but even though i installed the game with the english language-settings, the game was heavily censored, but there was the parental-lock-option in the menus...... questions over questions -.-

Das ist wirklich SEHR seltsam. Ich habe dieses "Parental Lock" nicht und angeblich soll dass im Multiplayerbereich sein und darüber deaktiviert werden können. Ich denke, die UK-Version unterscheidet sich von der GOG-Version hier.
Ich hatte auch die UK-Version auf CD damals gekauft und die war uncut aber mit dem Parental Lock-Scheiss.

ach weißt du, ich achte da nich sonderlich drauf, wo jemand herkommt XD. aber ich hatte das noch NIEMALS in meinem verdammten leben, das ich mir ein spiel aus uk importiert habe, und es solche mätzchen gemacht hat. eventuell hat activision (oder auch raven) da irgendwas gedeichselt, dass das spiel die system-sprache überprüft, und wenn die deutsch ist, dann wird hald kurzerhand die cut-fassung installiert. anders kann ich mir den murks beim besten willen net erklären D:

Ich auch nicht. Ich bevorzuge Englisch als Forensprache aber es ist mir aufgefallen, dass wir in diesem Thread alle Nutzer aus Germany sind. :)

Ich auch nicht ;). Aber SOF 1+2 war damals schon eine besondere Sache für Deutsche. Hab die UK-Version von SOF 2 unter der Ladentheke erworben.

I had the same/a similar issue with missing decals (dismemberment was still in and pretty chunky, however) and luckily enough, typing "getcpu" in the ingame console, to fix the problem discussed here also activated the more advanced gore stuff, along with all the other graphical bells and whistles.

Turns out some registry database entries are wrong.

They look like this when you install SOF 2 from the GOG installer

I ran the retail installer and put in the CD Key from the GOG.com version of SOF 2
and the second list of registry entries is what it listed them as.

Now you still need to type menu lock in console but now you can set a password in singleplayer as well and it works.

I have a similar problem with Sof1, i can't click on parental lock...

Same here. Then I bring up the console and type in "menu lock" I can set the settings for the gore. But ingame it doesnt work properly, no dismembement, bodies disappearing.
