Hello. I recently bought the Soldier of Fortune Franchise because of its recent comeback release at GOG.com.

Then, I remembered that I had a copy(given by my friend)of this very first game. When I checked it out again, it was the Community Edition Version 5.0. My friend gave it to me, so I don't know anything about this version. I was kinda worried if it was a pirated version of the game and I wanted the legit (= legal) copy of my own.

Glad I finally purchased the legal(I hope) version of this amazing franchise! Though, that recent discovery kinda bothered me, so I'll be really appriciated if anyone answer my question.

Thank you, and have a nice day!
The community edition is a pirated version. It's the platinum edtion with some extra files you can also download yourself (maps from www.gamefront.com/games/soldier-of-fortune and SoFplus from sof1.megalag.org/sofplus/).

The GOG.com version is almost identical to the platinum edition. These files have been modified:
SoF.exe: A patch for the violence lock settings
base/pak0.pak: Removed the violence lock menu
ref_gl.dll: A patch to fix a crash with long GL strings

Thank you for telling me this!
Damn, so I was using a illegal copy not knowing it. Glad I got a legit copy now, though. Thanks again!
