In a slow, careful, cat & mouse game like this you MUST have quicksave / save game. Nobody wants to repeat 15 min of painstaking planning and progress over and over until they get just the right move for the next guard or whatever..

(Why do devs think frustration = fun? Will never understand that...)

Quicksave lets me progress at MY pace and only replay what I want - and I get to see the whole game. This actually adds enormous replayability because you aren't sick of each scenario by the time you're through it. Being limited to checkpoints is idiotic. As is "crafting" in a game like this - but that's another topic.

At least have quicksave as an option that can be enabled eg on the difficulty screens. Don't enable it if you don't want it.

Sniper Elite gets this RIGHT and I buy all their games, which can be played over and over with no tedium. You should too.

Then everyone save scums after every miss. Thats not intended gameplay so those that dont do that suffer too. I think its fine. It saves often enough. Just get out of combat and walk a bit.

Can you not read? I said: as an OPTION. And obviously only in single-player. If you don't want quicksave DON'T ENABLE IT. Just like if you don't want "Easy" difficulty you don't enable that. Right? "Save scum" is EXACTLY what I want to do - all through the game. I don't care if you sneer at that and think things are "fine". You play it your way and I'll play it mine - if I buy it, which I won't if it doesn't have quicksave.

Every time I ask for this I get exactly the same brainless response. "Those that don't do that suffer too". Suffer??? Or "get gud" - more arrogant stupidity.

In the PC-only days all games had quicksave, and save anytime. Nobody imagined leaving out these obvious features. But when consoles came along without much storage they didn't have it, and devs began to realize that game time could be lengthened if levels had to be replayed. So it was dropped. Now you've been brainwashed into actually thinking you want it to be omitted. Amazing.

Unlike some shmup this game DESPERATELY NEEDS QUICKSAVE for all the reasons I gave first. If you don't miss that feature, fine, but don't get in here saying it shouldn't be there.

Game devs have a vision on how their game is being played. Save options are part of that. But go off.
Right. And the problem with the dev's vision is that they're focused on this one game. They simply don't realize that:

#) I don't have hours to play every day.

#) I have a hundred games to choose from and will only put time into those that are fun.

#) I can't become skilled at their game unless I put time in - which I won't if it's not fun.

#) If I can't have fun without being skilled, I'll drop the game quickly.

#) Quicksave lets me have fun while becoming skilled.

#) Not having to repeat levels means I can enjoy the whole game.

#) Not having to repeat levels means I don't get sick of any part of the game.

AS A RESULT: A game like this, with quicksave, is addicting because you can continually progress. That leads to huge replayability since I can return and increase the difficulty, try many tactics etc. and it's always fun.

I know all this from long experience. As I said, Sniper Elite gets it right. I play their games over and over.

In its current form I wouldn't play Sniper Ghost Warrior for more than an hour. So - no sale.

The devs should be glad to get such feedback.
I completely agree and I should have known better before buying the game because GW Sniper 2 was just as bad in that respect.
It's extremely frustrating.

It'd also be nice given that this game is buggier than frog excrement.

It's really not that hard, but holy hell did they even QA this?
Totally agree with you OP...

I don't have a million years repeating the same thing over and over again.
So sometimes I want to save my spot, so I CHOOSE how often I want to repeat it, or how difficult it is in that instance... Because of this lack of feature, I end up having to use Trainers for every single game I play, even though I might not want to for a lot of the gameplay.

Agreed 100%, but I'm curious which games in the series don't support it. I only played the first one so far, the Sniper Ghost Warrior from 2010. I am trying to start 2, but I can't get the game to run. Am I in for "console mode" saving for the rest of the series?

EDIT: Ah, SGW 2 has no saving... ugh...... this is gonna suck.
