Encountered a soft-lock (albeit in a different area than is common on Steam)

In the 'Hectos' region cutscene after the first checkpoint (Takten soaring across newly-raised bridge). Cannot regain control of Eve however can pause and exit to map and close game properly. Can not progress.

*Edit: Update patch 1.04 has broken my save files. "Incorrect version".

We are trying to update the GOG version this week.

Good news. I tried the "Continue" option (it worked) and I had only lost about an hour of progress. I have now 100% completed the game without issue. Great game, thank you so much for the experience! :)
