That's odd, when I run Slave Zero it only gives me a fullscreen mode. Is there way to create a windowed mode manually?

Please write to Support about this issue so we can examine this problem more closely. Thanks! :)
Contacted support, turns out it cannot run in fullscreen on Windows 8. Oh well, I'll just lower my screen resolution and play it in a windows. :)
I'm playing under Win8.1 and I found a way to play in fullscreen (at least on my PC): just go in the video options from the main menu, and hit "apply changes". The game should go fullscreen according to your resolution (it's set at 1280x1024 for me by default), and won't go back to window mode until you launch it again.

Edit: just saw you said you found no way to change this, sorry. It may help other people though?

I'm running Windows 7. Is there a way I can tell nGlide to run Slave Zero in a window? When I looked at the "nGlideSettings" program, I did not see a windowed-mode option.

Oh, I didn't notice it wasn't supported for Win 8! If everything else runs fine, maybe GOG could put a big disclaimer about it only running in a window but otherwise running fine on Win 8.

Never thought of doing this, as there wasn't a way to change the resolution in game! But this works indeed!
Glad it works for you! As to resolution changes, I've found old games running windowed don't often allow this, they just default to one. I just hit "apply changes" to ensure other options were applied and found it goes fullscreen this way!

As to window mode for nGlide, I haven't found anything for this, however you may try DxWnd, I think nGlide uses DirectX9 to emulate glide mode, so this might work?

I agree with a specific disclaimer too, some games run better (or look better, even) on 8 than 7 for me, only not playable enough in fullscreen or full-resolution. They use disclaimers for some games already, but it depends on how often such fixes would work 100% on most PCs I think.

This solution didn't work for me on win8.1, so I solved it another way. Go to the game location, open the file that's named szOptions, under video, find "handle alt-tab", change the value from1 to 0. Now when the game starts in the little box, your cursor should be free, press the game-window in the start-bar (or whatever it's called, at the bottom of the desktop) until the game flips to fullscreen.
