Yep, when will Skald be relesaed? It was scheduled for the 2nd of august, and now it`s the end of september. Also, there seem to be no more infos by the developer, last info was on september 11th on the Steam gamepage. Since then there was nothing, not even in the forums, neither on Steam nor here.
So, what is the state of the game right now? When will it be released? Will it even be released?
I loved the prologue so I still hope, that the game will be here in a not so far future.

So, is this game dead now? Even on Steam there are no news or replies from the developer anymore!

Hi there! SO sorry for the late reply. I 100% need to be better at monitoring the GOG forums but I keep forgetting since I don't get notifications from GOG for some reason (poor excuse -. I know).

Game is far from dead! I fact my latest post on Steam and the devlog (skaldrpg.com) on October 7th announces that I've just been able to go fulltime as game developer to focus 100% on Skald :-)

There is a lot more info coming up in regards to who what and where and there will likely be a minpr update this week with a larger splash just before xmas.

In general, if I'm sometimes a bit slow it's due to the fact that I'm a one man band and I can't be all places at all time. Spreading myself too thin is a great way to ensure nothing get's done.

Anyways, feel free to reach out on the Skald Discord or via mail (contact AT skaldrpg.com) if you have further qustions:-)

Cheers

Ah, thanks for the reply. So, when can we expect a release? Even an in developement one would be good. This game is the first one where I`m thinking about buying it as in developement.

A bit late to the party. Skape-IT had plans to go the early access route I think. But then decided not to release the game in dev. Probably in part due to getting a publisher. I suppose. But he does have backers testing the game in early access and probably has some QA from Raw Fury.

I played the demo and really enjoyed it : I'm half a century old, and I surprise myself coming regularly to the game's page on GOG to check if a release date had been added...
Are there any news on this front ?
According to a Steam update: Spring 2024.

Ah, thanks. I hope it won`t be delayed again.
We will see.

Would not be the first time that a date would be announced and the silence.

I still have not figured out if I need to follow steam or the kickstarter for updates.
Update from the Kickstarter which is a link to the website.

skaldrpg dot com

For some reason I am not allowed to post the link here.
A concrete date appears to have been finalised and announced; '"Skald: Against the Black Priory" will launch on Steam and GOG May 30th 2024!' It also goes on to state the prospective pricing, ~$15 for the standard version and ~$25 for the deluxe version; subject to change.
If you wish to see this announcement for yourself, it can be found on the developers official website, which was linked above by the developer.

If the creator comes again in this topic, I have a question. While waiting for a release date, I often checked on the Skald-RPG twitter/X page : alongside game news, this page indulges in a lot of political comments (anti-trumpism, Russian stuff...), which makes for a curious "mélange des genres", as it isn't the creator's page, but a product page.
Being quite a political person in real life, I usually want my games to be pure escapism (in part because politics in games are usually treated with absolutely no finesse).
Can the author tell if Skald is intended as a political metaphor, or is the political commentary limited to the X page ?

I'm also late to the party and also [almost] half a century old, but this game got me hooked up with the little teaser of a demo we got. Looking forward to 30 May.
Looks good.. waiting its release
By now it's been released and I like it a lot.
