Hello!

1. I am in Horryn and I read you can outwit the reavers. But at least one faction is already hostile. Don't know which, it is the one in the west part of town and the one that is behind the secret door in the sewers. Oleg invited me in and Kala is friendly too, so it might be the Butcher? Did I unintentionally kill one of his men? I don't think so.

2. Roland has the "two attacks" fest but sometimes he only gets one, is this a bug?

3. Also, I understand that as long as an enemy is "surrounded" at the opposite sides by my chars, every attack Kat makes to this enemy will be a backstab. But it is not. Often, yes, but not always. Did I misinterpret something.

4. Sometimes the game does not react to inputs. I wanted to shoot arrows (the char definetely had them) and I wanted to change places, but in both cases sometimes just nothing happens.

5. Is there a danger in stealing the queen's armour?

6. Is honey a quest item? It seems not usable.

Hello, here are the answers to at least some of your questions, to the best of my ability:

1. You likely encountered a known bug, unfortunately. It normally revolves around the Reavers in the sewers becoming hostile to the player inexplicably. Reload an older save if you have one, or just bite the bullet and proceed.

2. No. If you issue a movement command, you lose your multi-attack. This is intentional. If you lose it for another reason, maybe. I'd have to hear it.

3.There are a few possible reasons for this, most of them quirks of the current engine. The reason would depend on each distinct scenario. To diagnose it, you'd have to post the combat log or a screenshot or something. Assuming an enemy is flanked (as shown with the red >|< symbol) here are two possible reasons: an enemy immune to critical hits is also immune to being backstabbed; the maneuvers available to the thief cannot backstab (Precise Strike, Hamstring, Vein Strike, Thrust and Parry, Pierce Armor).

4. I don't have a good answer for this one, not without attempting to find it in the game by trial and error. Seeing this error in action would likely act as a very useful visual aid, rather than a vague description that can be difficult to diagnose. It might be similar to a selection quirk that I overcame back in May by altering how I was selecting enemies and entering combat commands. That is to say, I the enemy being fired upon was that which was highlighted by the target reticule, not the enemy I was mousing over. I can't even look through all the old bug reports to solve this one because they are no longer publicly available. You'll have to either figure this one out yourself, submit a bug report, or provide some more information. Good luck!

5. No, in any way you can conceive there are no repercussions.

6. No, it is a base edible. That is to say, it can be eaten in camp, but isn't in any recipes. There is "Firgol Honey", however, which is a quest item.

Thank you!

1. I took the tablet in the cave, and immediately every faction was hostile. So, the hard way (or to be said, although the fights were not easy, i won them with the first try)

2. He also gets only one attack when he is not moving. It is his turn, he attacks, the game goes to the next char.

3. I will watch the flank symbol. Maybe not every surrounding is valid? For my understanding, it should not matter whether the enemy is flanked by me horizontally or vertically.

4. Is it save to store stuff in containers? Does the game remember indefinitely?

5. Iben used "Rapid Shot", in the next round "Mark Target" was also not available. Does the round cooldown for one feat include the other/s?

6. A man outside the city asked me to liberate his wife, but now he is gone. And I did not find her (so far, maybe she is with the last reaver chief).

7. Did I get this right, there are buffing spells that also damage the party? Strange magic system indeed, beside lacking good damage (this also applies to the enemy, so I guess it's also a blessing) and ranged (which spellcaster stands beside an enemy? I know, D&D also has touch ranged magic) spells.

8. After defeating the three reaver chiefs, Markus comes to town with the people and says a smith and a merchant are also here, but I cannot find them.

The economy is very tight so far (I liberated Horryn except from "father"). Until now I only had up to 1,200 gold at most, now with the reaver leader's loot just over 2,000 but you can or have to buy so much (magic stuff is only from 600 gold up, major ones are 2,000 and just one minor vitality tonic is about 50, a standard one 150). I don't complain, it is not too bad but I guess I will need better equipment for all chars in the future.

Food is also quite annoying. I am not low on food, but who knows if it keeps coming, so I conserve when possible (using the level-up healing instead). And I have more than I can eat, because I am missing recipes and some ingredients, for example carrots are rare. Only later I realized I can look in to every stove, sometimes there already is something in there (I know, I can turn off food requirement, but I guess most players are ambitious to play like the developers intended)

Brewing tonics has the same problem. I have stuff but not many recipes.

Hello again. I'll once more try to fill in the blanks when I am able:

1. Whoops! Then there was no bug, you took the forbidden treasure!

2. Here is the in-game description: "Typically a character cannot perform multiple Attacks if they also move, or perform move-equivalent actions the same turn." Are you performing a maneuver such as "Thrust and Parry", or performing some other action that uses a full round of combat? Some feats have a time use of "Full Round" that distinguish them as such, as opposed to a"MoveEquivalent" feat. Or to simplify matters again, are you encoutering this when only performing a basic attack (the action represented by the shortcut of '1' in the hot-bar)

Just to cover every base, you are speaking of the feat Brutality: Multi Attack, and not Archery Initiate: Rapid Shot, where if the attack fails, another cannot be made, right?

3. If an enemy is both flanked (or otherwise 'defenceless') and vulnerable to critical hits, they should take extra backstab damage. If there is an error where you believe back-stabs aren't being applied correctly, I'd love to see it.

4. Yes. It is even safe to just store things on the floor. There are one or two containers, however, where this is not the case. After Horryn is repopulated, some of the returning NPCs block access to certain containers.

5. Yes. Spells and Maneuvers are treated slightly differently. Spells cost mana, but can be used every turn or perhaps even multiple times per turn if you 'Cascade' them. Manauvers have no resource cost, but will share a cooldown.

6. If you have completed the Horryn section and the wife is not saved, then she has perished. There is a cutscene/text event in the city streets (if I remember correctly) that determines her fate.

7. It's possible to damage your own party members with some area of effect spells that can apply debuffs, is that what you mean? I can't think of a spell that is intended to buff an ally that also damages it. (Was there a specific spell that you are concerned about?)
There are some very powerful spells in this game. To deal great damage with spells, they must be cascaded. Something like Magic Missile or Swarm of Gnats does the trick. One spell may deal little, but how about four or five of them? Another powerful example would an area of effect spell like Poisoned Blobe, that stuns and poisons opponents in a target area that can be increased.

8. The various merchants occupy the buildings surrounding the main square (the fountain by the north gate): a vendor to the north-east, the smithy to the west, and two additional vendors in the tavern west of the smithy (one if you don't have the dlc).

If you want some advice regarding the economy, food is a non-issue as ingredients are so readily available in the environment, and (as you have been) utilising a characters level-up to avoid resting. Another thing to remember is that it is not necessary to eat the full amount of food. Eating 50% will allow your characters to work and to heal, and 100% to cure the various wounds. By the time I beat the game, I had so much food I didn't know what to do with it. Well, that's a lie. I ate hundreds of units at once.
Regarding equipment, I found that the game wasn't difficult enough where this was a problem. And if you are strapped for cash, stealing one or two items of powerful equipment to use or resell to the Horryn sewer vendors is powerful. Just don't raise your suspicion too high.

Recipes for foodstuffs and poitions are a little on the rare side, but you can craft items without having the recipe by either trial and error or guesswork. Becuse the game states that "this item is used to brew a certain potion or food", regardless of if the reciple has been acquired, I considered it fair game to simply combine those ingredients.

1. It was, because it already occured before I took it.

2. Yes, it is "Multi Attack". I think I really did no other action, just a normal attack and the game refused another one. Will watch this in further combats.

5. If I am not mistaken, the cooldown of one feat also locked me out of using another, that's what I found strange.

6. Maybe it was the cutscene after I came to the city square the first time where a woman got murdered, but there was no telling whether it was her. Would also not explain the husband's dissapearence. I guess I wil be happy enough if there are no big or even gamebreaking bugs.

7. So far cascading was rare, but I guess with higher level and chosing the feats that raise the chances it will become more. Then attunement might be in even shorter supply than now. We'll see.

Food: oh thanks, so far I thought you always have to eat 10 units per char. So 5 is also enough, if there are no injuries. Although, in most battles there are.

Could it be that the thief feat with "Hamstring" is useless? It means "-2 movement" for the enemy. But if they are already standing before me, I have no advantage from that. Okay, maybe it refers to bows but it is not stated. Actually I would have wished for a manual, the ingame descriptions are fine but often not very comprehensive.

Britannia47: 6. Maybe it was the cutscene after I came to the city square the first time where a woman got murdered, but there was no telling whether it was her. Would also not explain the husband's dissapearence. I guess I wil be happy enough if there are no big or even gamebreaking bugs.
Yes, that's the one. Somewhere in the text it is referenced that the woman has matching auburn hair.
1. Well, shit.

7. If you meet the requirements by increasing your Spell Aptitude and increasing the Max Cascade Value enough, it becomes more reliable. But yes, you are right, early on it is not consistent.

Yes, "Hamstring" is not a very useful feat. Thieves are powerful units because of their backstabs specifically, so any of these feats are just a hinderence. Coming out of stealth to prevent the enemy from moving is not that useful, when instead you could just deal ~100 damage instead.
Buffing with damage: Fire Frenzy gives "Fortified Will" and "Lesser Frenzy", but also 1-4 Damage to Allies. Doesn't look like an error, I think this is a quirk of the magic system to prevent you from using too powerful magic in the battles.

I have many food recipes but often there is one ingredient missing. The other way round, I have ingredients without the recipe. Nevertheless I now have prepared meals worth of 2,500 food value, i.e. for 40 full rests. I liberated Horryn and only have two chapters ahead, so it should be enough even if I might have to rest more often (so far, it was not necessary as the default difficulty really is not very high, even the city final boss was quite a pushover, although it could hit hard).

Alchemy recipes are even harder to get, I still miss some for advanced vitality and attunement tonics, but I have tons of stuff without a recipe. Maybe the system does not work, maybe I was just unlucky with random loot regarding alchemy recipes.

The economy stays very tight, but not unfair. Even with the loot from the keep, still not every char has every equipment part. But the difficulty allows to be not equipped with every single piece of possible gear, so it is okay. The money or loot allowed for very good weapons and armor, that's the most important thing.

Could someone tell me where the Shrine of Strength is? According to the game, on some western coast, but I thought I already searched all the western coasts (and all of the map, for that matter).

Edit: in the meanwhile I read that it is on the northern continent, which is not possible to ship around and has to be explored by foot. No wonder I did not see it with the ship.

Can I safely assume that you have found the shrine now, then?
Yes, I found it.

And I replayed a savegame and rescued Natia (although with an online hint).

Thank you for your hints!

In the meantime I won the game and I had much fun, although there were some quirks.

The battles depend too much on backstab and critical damage. If the game was harder and you make single-digit damage too often (like my champion or Driina), you are in trouble. Also, the crafting system is not very good, even in the ending I only had recipes for the minor potions and many ingredients for food and potions with no use.

And I did not like the Cthullu-inspired theme, especially at the endgame, where I don't know what happend (I described my confusion in the "Ending?" topic).

The rather moderate default difficulty (including the save and rest systems) is a good thing, as there are already too many hard CRPG out there. I am no casual or novice CRPG gamer, but I play for fun and relaxation, not to be stressed. And for those who think it was too easy there still is the possibility to adjust the difficulty in many more ways than every game I know.

And I encountered no (major? see below) bugs, great programming and testing!

Although I could not load a savegame while in the final battle, but that might have been deliberate, though before it was possible..

And I am not sure but I felt like there where some errors in battle, like not doing a backstab despite the enemy being surrounded (I realized it does not count when the other char is stunned). Or not having two attacks although there should be because of a char feat that allows it. And sometimes after using a feat, only this one could not be used or every one, so the cooldown is just for this one or for all (?). Maybe I just did not pay attention here too, but sometimes it was a bit puzzling. Also here, I am glad the moderate difficulty allowed for that, not being depended on every attack succeeding.
