My issue with rebellion online multiplayer:

When I try to join multiplayer games I get the network error message saying my executable differs from the host's.

Anyone able to help me with this problem?

I'm experiancing the same issue. I've narrowed it down to playing the game with someone who has the Steam copy of the game (same 1.91 version) but that is as far as I've gotten.

The solution I found was quite simple:

Just send him your Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion.exe file and have him replace it with the one from his game folder (Make copy of the original, just to be on the safe side). Although it does not solve the problem of you joining some other (steam-) games, at least the two of you can join each other's.
