where can i find the patch 1.85 or 1.86 file it seems they are hiding to me.

I see them listed in the game library, right next to the download for the full installer.

Account -> Library -> <scroll down to this game> -> <click this game> -> Patch 1.85, 5th item down.

Same here - no patches listed, just the main game and the goodies.

Has GoG done this to force us into using the Galaxy client?

We've changed the installer for the game and so there is no patch for this update and there will be a proper patch for the next update, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Expect patch 1.9 soon as I just saw they have it out now if you bought it via stardock and this video was shared by them to show others what to expect on Stardock's youtube channel
