I just started the game without gog galaxy, in admin mode. Now it starts up without error message. So maybe that was the problem.

Same here... doesn't start. Windows 10 x64. Latest nvidia drivers.

But...

going to the game folder, and starting the game manually from the bin folder does work.
So it seems it is Gog launcher related.

Install Nvidia Legacy Physics 9.13.0604.It worked for me!

I'm an AMD user, so installing Nvidia drivers isn't an option. This is definitely a GOG Galaxy problem as it runs just fine using the .exe found in the \bin folder.

I know I had to install legacy physics to get it to work
