This is not a review of the game itself but of GOG's inability to update the game in a timely manner. I purchased this game on 9-6-19 from GOG. The game version at that time was 1.0.90. On 9-16-19 I opened a ticket with GOG to ask when version 1.0.93 (which was available on steam on that date) would be available for download. Since then steam has updated the game as follows: 1.0.94 on 9-17-19; 1.0.95 on 9-19-19; 1.0.96 on 9-20-19; 1.0.97 on 9-27-19 and 1.0.98 on 10-3-19. The current version on GOG is still 1.0.90 as of this writing on 10-3-19. In the meantime, all I've gotten from GOG support is we received your inquiry, we're reviewing your inquiry and your inquiry has been forwarded to our product team. All I want is the update. Why can't I get any update in a month when steam has gotten several.

Locutus1447a,

While I cannot say that GoG has not been slow on the update front compared to the Steam version, I can definitely say that there have been some updates that came and went when it comes to the GoG version of Sin Slayers. Barring the the most recent patch, the second-most recent patch I received nearly two weeks ago was 1.0.96.

While I did not take a screenshot, I would encourage you to take a look at the achievement lists for this game, specifically ' Trader ' and ' Big Spender '. These specific achievements can only be obtained if one interacts with the Goblin Merchant in the Church, which was introduced in the more recent patches. While I do not have those achievements, there are a few individuals that already have, suggesting that the patches have been out for a while.

I do not know why you did not receive the newest patches but, just in case, check your settings in the GoG Galaxy menu for the game. Click on More >> Settings >> make sure ' Automatically update to newest version ' is checked off.

As of right now, I have the 1.0.98 patch for Sin Slayers.

Hope this all helps.

Thanks for the reply blargicity. The problem is that I do not use GOG Galaxy. The download version is still 1.0.90. If Galaxy has the update then the download version should be updated also.

Locutus1447a,

Thank you for clarifying. Honestly, your request is more than reasonable and it is unfair that they do not have the latest version available for download. While it maybe different for other games, these patches add additional content and considerable fundamental changes to the game. I hope GoG addresses this soon.

Whatever, wait for next update, as this one has broken the minimap.
Now, 1.099 is the good patch, you can DL it.
