I was already an adult with enough experience of the genre to voice an opinion and not judge other's opinions like they're BS or crap or whatever you want to call it. Yup it had its fair amount of fun. I actually liked SiN at the time...playing it nowadays however...sure the first levels are fun but after that it's boring and there are much much better games to play through. That's why i said it deserved something like a 3, not 5 stars. 3 is still ok, it's 6/10, 12/20...
And back in context...it came out after Quake II which was amazing both in solo and multiplayer, Unreal which was insanely gorgeous compared to other games and also fun in multiplayer AND half life was released a month later.
So it was pretty weak even compared to games that came out at the same time.
Hope you get my point ;) I'm not saying the game is terrible or anyone liking it is an idiot...Just that it's an above average game at best and never great.

I use to play this game at a net cafe my family owned and had internet fast enough to get the (massive at the time) 36mb patch and I loved it. First game I can remember head shoting people in. It feels like going back and watching the over top 90's action films. Its fun. If you are upset at the ratings then its your lose you don't find it fun. I would give it 4/5 but like I said I played it with the 35 mb patch at the time and enjoyed the features it came out with compared to the orignal blood and orignal quake. It is currently fun for me to go back and play now as I am older and can understand the game better not rushing every cut scene to mindlessly killing everything. I dunno why you have to be a fun vampire about it.

At release it was a 2/5 game, for it was still beta. But afters the so big patches, it was excellent, a 4/5 game at least.
For nowadays I don't know, I didn't try the game since very long time.

EDIT: Also, the whole 'nostalgia' argument is complete BS. I've never played this game before and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm a sucker for old school shooters, even if don't have any nostalgia for them; they're all still great games to me.

I think i got hands on Sin 1 year after i played HL and i was hungry for a similar game experience. And it was great, i dindt experience any problems, maybe because i had a holy 3dfx Card, the Diamond Monster 3d in my PC. Just loved everything about the game, the Charakters, certainly more funny than Gorden Freeman, the Level Design was excellent, even the Trash Story had its Charm. Dont get the dislikes. Ritual did a fine job and got punished by faith, which was a shame.

LAWL Remember when I was 9 and I played ____________ it was the best ever! I loved it when I was 9. I rate this 9/9 (or five stars) would be 9 again! (p.s. I don't own this on GOG and haven't played it since I was 9, but remember that ONE TIME I played it when I was 9!?! Yea being 9 was great!)

Imho, pretty much the reason why every single game on GOG has a rating between 4 and 5 stars.

I didn't play it back in the day and still give it 4 stars.

For me it's memories and nostlagia. I remember me the first time i read about SiN was in an article of a PC Games Magazine. I didn't saw videos or anything gameplay-like. In a store i saw the game, i pleased my father to buying it, luckily he's a videogamer too. ;-) And at home we recognized that the game doesn't run, because our PC was under the requirements. My cousin which is a bit younger than me had a computer that was better and faster than our one and i could try SiN out on his computer and i was amazed. Then, we going to a PC-expert he should build it up so we are able to playing, we get not the fast gameing machine but the game should just run. And i remember me the loading times. -.- But i was happy to play it. ^^

Yeah, the game has a cartoonish-style and i don't like the saltos the enemies did when you hit them. It looks like a trash Batman-movie from the early 70s for me. ^^ But i like the action. I would give SiN a solid 4 from 5 stars. It's a good shooter.

Sin isn't a great game (not bad either) but his ambiance, gameplay and narration are vibrant testimonies of this epoch. Like Blood and Duke 3d in another style.
