I get a little bug in SiN Gold on a new pc I didn't get on my old notebook which was doing SiN perfectly. (Both Win10 64 systems)
I want to start the game by the exe-file with the intro videos enabled. (I know there have always been annoying resolution change hiccups in the intro sequence since the game was released, so most will just be fine with turning them off. But I still want to have them, it's a part of the game experience for me. Also, the endgame video sequence is affected by this, too.)
For some reason, the game isn't able to get back in full screen mode for game & menu after the gog video player (player.exe) did his job. I have to use alt+enter to get back in the game and see a lot of boring Win10 desktop stuff in the meantime. As I said, this didn't happen before on another Win10 64 system with the exact same settings.
I tried all compatibility settings / run as admin / DPI, but nothing really changed that problem. I only get this behaviour with OpenGL driver settings, not with 3dfx/Nglide. But as I'm not able to choose anything higher than 1024x768 on Glide, the widescreen patcher will not work with the Glide driver/wrapper (wants a modded 1152x864).
Strangely, the intro videos default to stretched incorrect 16:9 aspect ratio on the new system with the bug. This is not a problem, as I can set the player.exe to "start with 640x480" but it seems to be part of the other problem, as the video defaults fine in 4:3 on the laptop.
I know this is not exactly a game-breaking bug, but I'm a little perfectionist and would like good old SiN to run smooth and perfectly on my new system.
Does anyone have a clue / workaround for making the SiN enviroment stay in fullscreen all the time?
