Hello. I have just recently bought Simon the Sorcerer 4 from a local online retailer. the instalation ran fine. But as soon as I want to run it, I get an error message" the procedure point splite3_enabled_shared_cache could not be located in the dynamic link library sqlite3.dll." I have tried this on both XP and Vista and I get the same message.
My system resources are more than enough for the game's requirements.

If you use any AntiVirus and Spyware programs, you might have to disable them before installing.
Uninstall the game, disable those and then reinstall...
Also, if the game comes with directX 9, then let it install it - and make sure your drivers are up to date.
Do you by any chance run spybot search and destroy? If so you may have deleted this file as it came up as a false positive back in 2008. Make sure spybot is completely up to date and then download the sqlite3.dll file from

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?sqlite3

You will need to extract the file and then put it in your C:\windows\system32 folder. The game should run with no problems after you do this. Its a python libary file and I assume Simon 4 was programmed in python.

Sometimes we overlook even the simplest of solutions, I'll try and see if it works.
