This game is by no means a classic of the adventure genre, but you could do worse (like with the sequels, for example)

With a name like LeChuckie, no wonder your a softhead and think this is not a classic. Obviously you were not a true adventure fan when this was sitting on the shelf as a new game.
The game is a classic, beautifully retro 2D graphics, catchy music and some snappy dialogue voiced brilliantly by Chris Barry. If you want to flame then I advise a different board.
By "this game is not a classic" he means it's not Lucasarts, wich is a retarded statement.
not only is the premise of this thread wrong, it doesnt seem to have a point either. oh yeah, simon rules.

This is indeed a great game. In my opinion it's right up there with the LucasArts games. Even number 2 is very good. Other than that I haven't tried the others.
Anything linked to Red Dwarf in any way is already classic. Also the game itself is not bad. Definitely has different sensibilities than other adventure games of the time. More monty python than saturday morning cartoons, which sierra and lucas arts kind of battled for the crown in.
