Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else. Note that this is SimCity 3000 Unlimited.
I built my highway , build a road to connect to, then select the On-Ramp.If I am not quick enough or highlight a block (have not figured out which blocks cause the issue) the blue highlight select box just disappears. Then I am no longer able to place an On-Ramp. The cursor is still there but the Drop Shadow highlight (this is what the manual calls the blue / red highlight) is gone.
I have tried to do this with other cities and it does the same thing. I can open the Frankfurt Germany city file go to a highway, delete the ramps that are there, then go to rebuild them and the Drop Shadow disappears and I can NOT build the On-Ramp in the exact spot I just removed them from.

I have found that the only way that I can reliably build On-Ramps is to go to zoom 5, select the On-Ramp, then run the mouse down the right-hand side, in the toolbar then move to the highway, then build the On-Ramp.

I am using Win 7 64, and thought that it might be a compatibility issue. Still just wondering if anyone else has run across this issue.

The first image shows the blue Drop Shadow with the cost box.
The second image shows NO Drop Shadow but that the cost box is in the exact same position. Preventing the On-Ramp to be built.

Oh yes this was a frequent problem for me. I usually got round it by building a destroying a road on a single tile. That I think always did the trick to reset the system.

Cool, thanks for the info. Glad it was a confirmed bug and that it wasn't just me.
Yeah, I have found ways to reset the Drop Shadow too. I normally switch to Road then switch back to On-Ramp and try again. But it is very irritating
There are so many problems with highways that aren't bugs so I just avoid them. :P

Yes, that does make me pretty bad at 3K, though in #4 you can actually really thrive without them.
I remember reading about that being a confirmed bug on all versions of SimCity 3000 Unlimited, but I do not remember if someone made a patch for it or if there was a easy solution.
