I just now installed Simcity on my rig and theres been no major problems except for some reason the sound doesn't seem to play except when a year ends and the mouse seems to be really buggy. Either its very slow or it fidgets around a lot. Help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with the mouse.. it doesn't work right, at all ... when moving the mouse at slow speed (for accurate selection) it doesn't move at all and then when moving faster it moves in a boxy up/down, left/right way instead of diagonally - but when I move it fast it works 'normally'.

I've tried to increase the mouse speed with the GOG DOSBox graphics setup program, but it doesn't change this behavior.

It is really annoying and makes the game unplayable - and it's amazing that this isn't a common problem seeing as we're all using the same installation.

More strange is that this is a DOSBox game, but the posts on this problem only seem to say that it is affecting SimCity 2000 within DOSBox.

Could it be an OS issue or a mouse driver issue? Myself, I'm on Vista x64 and use a Microsoft Sidewinder OEM mouse, and haven't noticed any issues with SimCity 2000 in DOSBox.

Only other suggestion is to turn off mouse acceleration in Windows, if you have it turned on, and maybe try changing the sensitivity and see if that helps. Mouse sensitivity can also be changed in the DOSBox conf files.
