Anyone ever "beat" Simcity 3000? Does it have an End Game like Simcity 2000?
I have a population of 550k advancing time just to know if something happens, nothing ever happens, I'm in the Year 2104 now...

Last event that happened was me being offered the Space Port at population 400k, I enabled all the policies regarding clean industry, etc, made a separate Save File just to advance time on it...
Are the "events" in the game triggered by population?
I have no problem with spoilers, at this point I just want to beat the game once just to know how it looks.

This game is cool and all but it seems to follow this cycle: create city, try to make it the best city ever, realize that due to lack of physical space you're going to have to resort to using ugly grids at maximum density, lose interest, abandons save game, doesn't play the game for the next 6 months LOL But hey it's a nice passtime for a week.

End game? I have played SimCity 2000 a lot in the past. There was never any "ending" unless you bungle up so bad the army kicks you out. It just keeps going. I had a city that was 1/3 or 1/2 arcologies. And it still kept going and going. I assume SimCity 3000 is the same. Mess up and go into massive debt then it maybe could end. Do well, it will just keep going. You don't really "beat" SimCity games.

Only if you're playing scenarios instead of freely building a custom city AFAIK.
No, SimCity of any form doesn't have an endgame except game over; Maxis treated their products as Software Toys, and then EA took a massive dump on that philosophy.

The other Cities invade, out of envy and because you kept on blowing smoke into their territory. Enslave your Sims.
Steal your water. And burn down the City.
Or perhaps I have played too many 4X games and now have a problem.
