Anyone figured out how the skill actually works? Upon selection it changes icons from a "globe" to the "sun" (skill tree icon), I can use it but... then what happens? My damage stats on character screen change for like 2 seconds upon casting.

By the description, it's supposed to boost the first action in combat. What exactly is an action by the way? I can cast it during combat, so... what happens then? Do I gain these bonuses? Is this just a very poorly worded buff that boosts the next "action" as in attack, skill or spell?

Online guides for this game are not helpful.
