Last time I played this game it only allowed you to save once at each save point. Basically if you saved your game at an "Oracle" the oracle would disappear and you would not be able to save your game again until you found another oracle (and this could be several hours later into the game).

Im pretty sure this was only a problem with the PC version of the game so I was wondering if GOG fixed this? This problem is a deal breaker for me, I just cant play a game that doesn't allow me to save.

Confirmed. Oracle disappears as soon as save process is terminated.

Which other versions you're talking about?
I thought Silver was a PC exclusive...

if not being able to save often is a problem i can easily make a save anywhere function for you so you can save anytime you want at the press of a button.

this wasnt a problem or a bug it was suppose to happen.

i will start work on this as soon as i get back and i will release later tonight, it will probably be a separate program that you can run alongside the game (you run my program first then run the game, then press the button indicated to be able to save), just 1 small question, what button would you guys like for a save button ?

ok guys here it is, just run this then run the game, then when in game press F5 to bring up the save screen.

a few notes
1. if you are running Win7 or Vista you may need to right click and run as administrator for this to work
2. Don't use this at events (like when people are talking or when enemies are still on the screen) because it can mess the event up or all enemies and NPC's may disappear.
3. I really recommend that when using this you use a new slot everytime you save just incase anything goes wrong, this has NOT been fully tested.
4. to close the program right click it on your task bar at the bottom of the screen and click "close"

Really really useful. Testing the telescope bug require to beat the cave demon every time! ;-)
Now I kill it down very fast in 4 moves. But with this feature I could test bugs better! :-)

Do saving in the middle of the script could produce improper behaviours of the script itself if it changes?
I mean, if I save, then change the SCT file (thus the checksum), and then load, is there a chance the savegame incorporate part of the code? If yes, make changes to the file would be useless.

didn't check the savegame structure yet.

OMG Thank you SO SO MUCH for this Kranmer. I dont know how you did this, but this program is the reason I am now going to buy this game.

kranmer, did you just write a program in a few hours that allows you to essentially save state at any point in a game that only allows you to save once at specific points in the game?

And this program does work. I used it a number of times and it did allow me to save. However when I faced the the ice boss while running this save program the game crashed and my virus protection software deleted it (the save program not the game).

hummingbird87 thanks for the game :) i haven't ever played it before and later this week when i get chance i am gonna start playing it, thanks again.
Now onto the virus problem, the program clearly isn't a virus (i created it myself so i am sure) i scanned the file with www.virustotal.com and 1 virus scanner does detect it as a virus, Here are the results

I had the virus problem with the first version. This one doesn't' trigger any positive on my Avira Antivir and it works fine.
