So, finally got myself Silent Storm as a Christmas Gift. I started playing and whatnot and then noticed that I made a mistake with my character so I started new and it seems that the order of the missions seem to be different. In my first game, the first mission (after the one where you rescue the colonel) is the one where the Germans attack the British HQ, now in my second game, I started with the german spy hideout, followed by the attack on the Depot that came much later.

So, is the mission order random or did I forgot to do something early on or what is that?

Would be glad for some help.

Yep, can confirm the orders is a little random.
In my two Axis games, one important mission (loot/weapon wise) didn't show up! The story could still progress but I missed out on important guns.
Pretty sure I've done all objectives etc. Played on Hard difficulty where the count of objectives are known, but what they are aren't fully revealed at mission start.

Well, I see. Its a bit annoying tho, I skipped a lot of missions and I am already in the Ural and can storm the Unknown Installation and whatnot. Thats my 3rd try by the way and only the first time I got the missions in order like I saw em in a lets play.
Say, does it matter in what order you do the missions or is that not important? I have been wondering about that recently.

I tried to complete all missions in my last two runs, I do them in the order suggested by the blinking regions / map circle* and as far as I know this seems to work .... i.e. I didn't notice any of the missions disappearing or 'being cancelled' because I took the default path.

The closest thing I found about how the game gives you missions and path is from DoomMunky's post in Strategy Core forum. If you skip missions or fail some objectives that may affect the path.

Beware spoilers if you read further on that thread

And the way the game works is that you get a mission from everybody you interrogate, basically, so you won't get that mission if you kill that dude. BUT, the game will probably enable you to get that mission from someone ELSE in the campaign, so you'll probably be able to do it anyway. S2 uses a dynamic campaign system, so some campaigns won't feature the same missions, or the same order of missions necessarily. Or they might. It's a weird system."

If you're keen to know more about SS there's heaps more in StratCore forum

Well according to the Strategy Core, , Silent Storm does not have a set order of missions and you are free to choose missions you want:

"There is no set order to missions, but there is some kind of plot tree based on clues. Once you find a clue, you "open" a mission. Several clues are considered as key ones and thus you can't finish the mission without them, but all the rest aren't nececcary - you'll probably just miss an additional "predefined" mision. You move between region maps on the global map. I can't say it's very exciting screen, but you have to select the region somehow."

anyway, at least thats good to know. By the way: I tried to post in other threads of this forum but my replies do not appear, any idea what is going on? under "My Account" It says I participated in those threads but I cant see my replies to any of them.

Cool, that sounds more correct than what I found. Makes sense for it to be based on clues rather than interrogated persons.
