This mod doubles the speed of all animation, making turns pass much more quickly (or rather, not as frustratingly slow). Unlike the mod that's posted at StrategyCore, this version works on English/GoG version.

Enjoy.
Thanks! But where exactly is the file supposed to be placed?

"Faster Animations" folder should be placed in the "Silent Storm" folder next to game.exe
Just like "AlwaysCritical" and "ImprovedBackstab" mods that are already in-game.

After that you should go into Custom Game, enable your mods and start a new game.

If you don't want to start new game, use this:

I have no idea what might be the problem. I have a clean GoG version and it works perfectly for me.
Make sure you're using it in Silent Storm and NOT Silent Storm Sentinels.

What's the difference between the fast animations mod for SS2 from StrategyCore website and your modified version? Original mod seems to work just fine for me with Gog's version of the game.

The StrategyCore version is for Russian version and it's (supposed to be) uncompatible with English(GoG) version.

My first mistake was stupidly replacing the game.db file in the Silent Storm folder with the one from the Faster Animations folder, of course that'd crash it. Then I followed Kiberkillers instructions for installing the mod, made sure I saved on the European overhead map, used the addmod tool and it works fine!

It just says "untested with english version". For me it works fine with both - english Gog version and english non-Gog versions. And you still didn't answer what's exactly the difference between those two mods speaking in technical terms.
A strange side effect of this mod is that firing a revolver results in the character firing all the rounds in one burst. Makes for very a strong weapon though, as it doesn't cost any extra APs ;)

Anyone else run into this?

Literally all rounds? I've seen an enemy shot two or three shots at a time but I assumed that it's because he was using a pistol with burst firing mode, since most of Allied Officers (who use pistols all the time) fire them normally.

It might just be a bug with the weapon that you're using.

EDIT: I did some testing with different pistols and revolvers, all of then work perfectly normal for me.

Tried a few and it turns it is indeed only one revolver that does it. I can't recall the name, Weston-something? It's got a green handle anyhow and it's saved my butt a couple of times ;)
After I added the mod all the weapons became useless [lack of any damage / every hit = 0].
Any ideas what to do?

I had the same problem with the 'secret' energy rifle .... fires all 50+ ammo in one massive blast. Game lags bad and everything in its path gets leveled. I made a thread here
http://www.gog.com/forum/silent_storm/need_help_with_fastmod_bugged_weapon_stat

I am using the Fastmod from StratCore and it worked beautifully, no crashes except for the above. Probably the same effect as with the revolver you described.

I'm guessing an 'ammo usage' table somewhere in the game gets bugged when that mod is applied.

The link doesn't work anymore. Could you post a new one?

Nvm. found it with Google:http://s2mods.tripod.com (if this is the same mod, seems to work all the same)
