Although the artwork for banner is as usual awesome, why sub don't have extended forward planes like in attached file!
I find it very unrealistic, bla bla bla, and stuff... :D

Yeah. I was bored at my work :D

But the artworks for box covers are really good and I have a question why they are not avaible in extras?
(they are probably not big enough but I would like some of them printed in poster size :D )

What's unrealistic ? the bow planes on the artwork or a real sub ? First its a 1990 game. Most games had amazing artwork on the box but the game graphics was not up to the boxart lol. But it was fun as hell. Tbh I don't care and didn't care about the artwork on the box since it didn't reflect the quality of the product since it was very different. Just look at the sub on this one. The drawing is just amazing and the details are amazing as well and thats including the environment. But inside the game... its a 256 bit color game. Very different.

I'm talking about artwork on banner, made obviously by gog.
I found it mildly irritating that it was so beautifly done in the artistic department and yet the sub have it's bow planes stowed while being submarged (i'm kind a picky that way).
Since I had few minutes of time to spare I made correction myself (which is attached to my post) and tried to make some form of a poor joke out of my habits and quirks.

The vintage box artworks were amazing back in the days! And I wouldn't ever complain about tham even if they where not realistic or silly do to the nostalgic factor alone, but also because complaining about an artwork made some 20-30 years ago would be silly of me.

I just couldn't help that given technology and media someone on gog ovelooked so maybe minor but nevertheless importent detail that can be fixed easily.

But it's all in good fun for me so I hope no grudge will be taken :)

Mhh I didn't noticed it first but now that you say it, I don't find it odd at all. I don't even think it was a mistake. To my knowledge, bow planes were used to help subs to submerge or go to the surface and they were especailly used in silent operations where sounds were not accepted at some point. So instead of using the pump which created sound they used the bow planes. So, to me, submerged or not bow planes could be retracted and it would make sense. It wouldn't make sense to have them retracted and the sub on surface imho
I would need to check this but to my knowladge they were used all the time, since moving sub submarged on the even keel was rather impossible only on aft planes.
Pumps weren't used to change depth, but to change trim and pump water out of the hull in case of flooding. And trim was only used to make sub buoyancy neutral. It was also to make longtitunal stability but that could never be achived perfectly (even in the ship this size), especially near the surface in conditions of waves.
But if you find reliable source telling otherwise I will be glad to see it :)
