cant get SH2 to load when mission is selected all i get is c:/ janus err file is missing help

Have you contacted GOG support? I had this on disk (although Aces of the Deep is better) but was going to buy it on sale. But not if it won't work.

Tried to launch this game (Win XP) and got heavy flickering after starting a misson. Seems there's a problem with Nvidia cards. Any suggestions?

Solved the flickering problem by using SH2-DC INTEROP v1.1 PATCH (23.06 MB)

But a new problem appeared - some text in the game became unreadable (corrupt fonts), still looking for a solution.

Edit: Tried on another computer (Intel Graphics, Win 7), game works fine. But still it seems Nvidia cards dont work properly without a fix.

I am using an Nvidia card and I had the same problem and I installed the INTEROP patch, and now I have the same problem: corrupt fonts.

Hopeing GOG will find a solution :)

Just for the record, post system specs, hardware and software - it makes it impossible to guess the problem if the system spec is not included, because the game works.

We know the game works, it works for me and a lot of other people, so the issue is with the system itself.

The game works 100% fine, for example on:

AMD FX8350 CPU
AMD HD7950 GPU
Windows 8.1.1
Catalyst 14.9

No compatibily mode needed, it runs natively on Windows 8.1.1

I know this topic is old, but I am just now seeing it. SHII and the Interop Patch have a sketchy history with the architecture of certain NVidia cards. There are plenty of topics over on the Subsim.com forums that discuss this. To make a long story short, there is nothing that can be done if the corrupted text appears. The game+the patch simply does not work with certain NVidia card architectures. The vanilla game works fine, but once the interop patch or Projekt Messerwetzer are applied, the bugs appear.

i cannot get this to run right (as in full screen stretch) in windows 10.

edit = update as of 2017 ish, microsoft finally patched windows 10 to scale older full screen 3d applications..

the eric topp videos still wont run on windows 10 for some reason. you can watch them using media player etc, but they wont work from within the game itself.

why does this game require quick time as part of the install? this makes no sense.

it didnt run on quick time /w previous versions of windows i dont believe.
