I've been dying to revisit this game, but for the life of me I can't get past the startup. The moment the Title flashes at the main menu the game crashes. I've tried redownloading the game, restarting my computer, Compatibility mode, running as administrator, changing DirectX settings, Windowed Mode, etc. and nothing seems to work. This is recent as about a year ago this game ran with no problems whatsoever, maybe a bit of framerate problems during cutscenes and bad lip sync, but besides that the game ran fine. Now that I'm returning I just can't get it to work. FOR THE LIFE OF ME SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!

UPDATE: I got it to work, I figured out the problem! So my monitor doesn't have sound so I got a couple headphones and some speakers since I didn't realize I got a monitor without sound. Usually my speakers are plugged into my PC for obvious reasons, but I recently started playing on my old consoles PS1 and Xbox so I plugged my speakers directly into my Monitor. Turns out once I plugged my headphones into my PC the game could play! I honestly tried every solution known to mankind from the PCGamingWiki to Reddit and to the GoG Forums (here) and nothing worked! I thought "how stupid would it be if it had to do with me plugging my speakers into my monitor instead of my PC." I'm still confused on how that was the issue since I've been playing a lot of games without any problems.

You may also want to try this mod, which fixes some issues and adds some neat features.

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong, I downloaded the Fix from the wiki to no avail. I even tried downloading the Widescreen patch and some of the other solutions on there like deleting/renaming the CheckSpec.dll. Still the same problem remains I get to the Main Menu and it crashes.

install the game on HDD, not in the SDD, It works to me.

I'll see if this works. Thanks for the tip.
