I'm in the rare situation of being completely unable to progress from the very first location in the game.
Originally started out using mouse and keyboard, but got stuck as I did not know how "LT+LS" translates into
keyboard input. Switched on my joystick and spent 10 minutes not getting back into the game as it would return to desktop after initially showing a blank screen - switching back to the game yielded a black screen.
Switching on directx via the configuration program solved that problem, so back to running the game - this time with
gamepad enabled.
I still can't open the fucking door.
Assuming that LT = Left Trigger and LS = Left Stick, the best I can do is getting it to open a bit, and when getting closer to inspect, I slam the fucking thing shut again.
This is so far removed from having fun as I think I've ever tried with any game.
you can open the door by scrolling the mouse wheel.. took me a few tries to figure that one out also... but once you know it.. the image kinda makes sense :)

Hi 81RED, our apologies for the frustrations you've had.
The rat with arrows on the poster is supposed to represent the mouse scroll wheel for incrementally opening doors.
Holding left trigger and "tapping" up and and down on the left stick mimics the behavior of the scroll wheel on the gamepad.
I got stuck in exactly the same spot.

After a half hour of trying things (the door gives a little if you walk into it, so I repeatedly tried dashing into it to try to dislodge it, etc), I eventually started pressing every button I could think of until I found ones that worked -- Page Up and Page Down. I went through most of the tutorial using page up and page down.

It wasn't until near the end of the tutorial that I noticed that the scroll wheel worked too.
