I can't launch the game in fullscreen since update 1.03. It gives me a black screen that can't be closed no matter what I do unless the computer is rebooted.

The latest Version is 1.03.1. Have tried this?
Yes I did and unfortunately it's still giving me a black screen and softlocking the computer
Yep, same here.
Hi there.
I don't know what this issue is causing. And I don't know when the next patch is coming. But for now you can try this patch: drive.google.com/file/d/1AZ6Eqv-59vnXzoIIZR1b5OVMIZ4LiGmm/view
Extract its content into the folder Siege of Avalon: Anthology and start Siege.exe.
I don't know if that helps everyone but it's an applications based on an older Scource Code. So the possibility is high that it does. =)
I found a solution (at least for win7 (64bit)
Find installation directory (eg c:\goggames\siege of avalong anthology).
Right click on siege.exe select properties
Switch to compatibilty tab.
Change OS from win xp to win 2000
Done

I just bought the game and had the same 'black screen' issue on Windows 10. But after I set the windows compatibility to 'Win98/Win ME' settings and disable 'full screen optimization', the 'black screen' issue went away. Maybe this might work for other computers as well.

This worked for me, in the event that there are still people A) buying the game and B) getting the black screen locking their Win 10 64 bit systems. Thank you.
Set the Siege.exe to Win 7 compatibility mode!
