I'm not far into the game and I noticed I had 'equipped' a couple items in slots that didn't make sense (like pants in the trinket slot) that I couldn't remove. It didn't badly affect things but after returning to the bailey to sell some junk all of my equipped items changed type (lot of platemail, etc.) in slots that didn't make sense. Most of it I can't remove. My game version is 1.03.1.

It's cool game, but I don't want to restart unless I know what happened or the issue's fixed. Any idea what causes this bug?

maybe this is caused by pressing escape while your inventory is opened.

Pressing esc during a dialogue is opened is a problem in general and is only fixed in patch 1.04 (not published) or in the community patch.
