hi, game will not open, crashed with the failed to initialise directx error, running directx9c as suggested, tried with newer versions aswell, triad other suggestions around and still wont open game, any ideas?

This was breaking the game for me too. Followed all the instructions on the support page about reinstalling direct x but did nothing- then resorted to a good old google search- seems the Steam community solved this a while back so bit disappointing that the solution hasn't been stickied to the GOG support page as its quite straightforward. The solution is to create a manual config.ini file in the saved games folder- see link for full solution from the creator with thanks to their brilliance!

same thing for everyone using windows 10. manually creating the config.ini file may be a solution but gog should take more responsibility when handling these problems. I can only suggest creating a trouble ticket and responding to it yourself 10000 times lol
