I've been playing Covert Action for decades now. It stuck me that I can't think of a single game that's similar in any way, even in the sense of trying to figure out a randomize crime that is underway.

Does anyone have any suggestions for similar games?

It's really very rare. I can't even think of a game somewhat similar. I'd love to see a modern game that, if not a remake, at least has a lot of similarity. I don't know if a modern audience would "get" a detective game that doesn't lead you by the hand. People get confused in games where there's a giant arrow pointing to your exact quest objective.
This game needs a remake! Preferably one that keeps the Graphics and other esthetics within the frame of the genre.
Really, the serious spy genre is underexploited.

Why noone makes a John Le Carré-game?
