I've always felt the skeumorphic equipment selection screen in covert action is the worst bit of graphic in the game and completely out of place. This mod replaces the skeumorphic "shelves" with a lighter, cleaner design and adds a couple of helpful texts: there's a reminder at the bottom telling you to press ESC to start (which I find rather illogical), and the grenade types show what they are when selected.
The mod can be downloaded at:

Simply overwrite the equip*.pic with the ones in the zip to use. (Do take backups, just in case).
