hi
i bought civilization 3 on gog and i have a problem to launch it. when i try to launch it i get error code : 13 and game will crash. i tryed to find help on the internet and i found plenty of forums. problem is that none advice works.
i tryed to rename lsans.fot as i read. problem is that after first run of the game (and crash) there is no lsans.fot just lsans.ttf. when i tryed it before the first run, there is lsans.fot, but renaming it didn't work.
i tryed to copy that lsans.ttf according to one advice- didn' work,...
i don't know what to do to run this game and yes there is chance i am doing something wrong
i have win7 btw

can somebody help me, please?

ps: i didn't find this question here so i start new topic. i hope i am not blind and this topic isn't already solved somewhere

Was your LSANS.ttf in a separate Conquests folder? I had this on 2 laptops. Actually it was a 2nd Civilization folder with just a Conquests folder inside it. Inside the conquest folder was this LSANS.ttf.

I finally managed to delete this folder and LSANS.ttf. Now the game plays even with the LSANS.fot file.

I found an app called unblocker. ( unblockerx64 1,9,2 )

It is very simple to use. Worked first time on my windows 7 laptop. It took 3 goes to work on my windows 10.

I am sad to hear GOG has this problem. I only came here to buy civ 3 because my CD of the game can not stop this. My Desktops also have this .fot file. ... just so frustrating having the game freeze so often.

it worked somehow, don't ask me why. i don't know what happened, because i am pretty sure it didn't work before, when i tryed to do the same thing.
i deleted lsans.fot (before first run) and this time, the game started without any errors. oh and by the way, lsans.fot refer to "y:\_GAMES_GALAXY_\2K Games\Civ3 Complete\english\game\Conquests\LSANS.TTF", which i belive is probable gog galaxy. anyway, right now i am able to play it, so thank you for your effort and help.
