Just recently I read about the new Civilization: Beyond Earth and there it was that they mentioned "Alpha Centauri", which I had never heard before so far, despite being a big fan of Civ ever since I started under worst conditions possible (CIV II on PSX xD) and loved CIV IV and V on Steam, so I bought this to pass some more waiting time till Beyond Earth is released :) Anyone else had the same experience?

I had a very similar experience. It's so similar in fact I bought this game today for that same reasons. You can't not love civilization games!

Same reason I bought this game as well. I played this one 15 years ago and I simply had to go back in time and play it while I wait for "Beyond Earth".

You can't not love presumptions of similarity, including depth of strategy and possible difficulty if you like that sort of thing..

Love how Firaxis gave a nod to Alpha Centauri, even though they don't have the rights to it anymore "Cough" EA"Cough" Oh well.... But Beyond Earth should bring a lot of Awareness to this Classic. and more importantly GoG! Who knows what other Good Ol' Games you'll find here, welcome! :D

I knew about this game before Beyond Earth but never bothered to buy it till today. I got stoked for BE but realized that I will never be able to run it so I might as well try out the OG to tie me off till later :/
