Nevermind the repetition in the title, if this gets solved people will find it easily as I haven't seen any subject on my problem here.

Oh, but where's my politeness. Good evening !

My problem is the following : Whenever I play I hear these "clicks" between two notes in the music, be it ingame or menu. And it's not just the music, it's everywhere, even when I move my cursor over a button it does a "click" sound, very, very annoying. Can't play like this, if I play more than 5 minutes with that I need to punch a kitten in the face or something.

Please help me, I really want to get into this game.

First, you should look at your sound card settings. If you made any changes to the default settings, try changing them back. Or experiment by changing other options.

If that doesn't help, open your Alpha Centauri.ini file. Change the following lines

ds3d=1
eax=1

to

ds3d=0
eax=0

(Note that your .ini file may be located in

C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOGcom\Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri

instead of in the game folder.)

Finally, if all else fails, rename the file sound.dll to something like sound.dl_. Doing so will disable in-game sound, however.

ETA: If you haven't already done so, a simple uninstall/reinstall might help.

Hi, thanks for your message.

Actually the problem dissapeard after gog updated Alpha Centauri with its alien crossfire extension. I uninstalled/reinstalled many times and still had the same problem, so when i heard about that update I hoped the problem got fixed, and ultimately it did when I installed the game.

I'll still mark your answer as solution for your time spent. Thanks anyway !
