What I'm using:
Laptop
i3 processor @ 2.53 Ghz
Video Card is stock, but has been updated

Stuff I've done:
Run in Windows XP service pack 2
Fixed the INI file
Changed laptop resolution
Installed 4.0 and xp service patch

Resolution:
Save the game a lot
STILL CRASHES

I've ran Alpha Centauri before downloading AX from both the original CD and from GOG after I lost said CD. I've never had a problem with Alpha Centauri until I downloaded AX from GOG. This expansion just made the game unstable as sin.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your using Windows XP then I would use service pack 3. A lot of programs/drivers/updates state they only work with service pack 3.

same problem here, I've filed a ticked a couple of days ago; no response yet. I suggest you do the same.

I guess we'll have to wait until gog releases a patch.

Yea, I've tried service pack 3, but it seems to run best with service pack 3

Same here on my Acer Aspire ONE D250 netbook with a Intel N270 1,6Ghz CPU, Intel mobile 945 grafic chipset and 1 GB Ram and WinXP SP3.

Even though it worked some day ago, but than I started CCleaner and cleaned the registry ...

Maybe it will work again some fine day
