I was trying to work this all out myself, but my short attention span got the better of me.

Has anybody figured out the formula by which the game increases the amount of labs for each new tech? For example, on the higher levels as University, you get the first for free, then the next is 22 labs, the next is 22 labs, then, generally, it goes up by 25 or so per tech. So the next one is 47, then 72, then 97, all more or less.

If you cash in a Network Node, or make a trade for technology, or get a tech from a pod, then there's a jump. But it isn't always the same. Also, I believe that if you refuse a trade, there's a jump.

Has anyone figured this out, or seen where someone else has figured it out?
It's a bit complex actually, and there are still some unknowns apparently. Best info I could find on it:

As far as I understand cost never changes within the same turn, unless at least one faction discovers a tech. So refusing a tech trade should not affect the cost within that turn.
