Hi as above, just recently re-installed SMAC (latest version) from here, on a new machine running Windows 8.1 and running the game has it asking for a disc in the drive (can't find terran.exe or terranx.exe if running the exp).

I cancel the message and the game starts up anyway, I presume this is expected and that there will be no repercussions later in the game that 'needs' a cd?

EDIT: Ignore me, the cancellation of the message means the message hasn't come up since.....
