Previously I have played SMAC without this problem on this machine. I just installed and I'm getting constant CTDs after only a few turns. No error messages.

I'm using Win10 (ver.1803) with an i3 2.27 Ghz and 8 GB RAM using Intel GFX.

So far I've tried turning off the Windows Game Bar/DVR. But that doesn't seem to work.

The only change I've made is to the ini file, adding DirectDraw=0 under the [Alpha Centauri] header to put it in wide screen.

Any ideas what is causing the game to crash?

Thanks

What if you remove the DirectDraw statement from the ini file? I have known it to cause crashes in some cases.

Thanks for the reply. I will certainly try that. I guess then I wouldn't be able to play in widescreen then, but at least the game might work. When I get a chance, I'll report my results.

SOLVED: I removed the DirectDraw=0 in the .ini file, which seems to have stopped the crashes.
I still get CTD's now and then.

I went into the Directory under GogGalaxy, and looked into several INI Files there, and do not see any "DirectDraw" in any of them.

What File name and Location would the Referanced File be under/In??
Thatnks.
In Alpha Centauri.ini
