"This application has failed to start because DPLAYX.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I have tried reinstalling the game, updating direct x, and running the game in various compatibility modes. I have also tried some of the .ini tweaks suggested in this forum. System information and error details are given below. Can anyone offer assistance?

That file is part of DirectX, and necessary for Direct Play. I don't think this is part of DirectX 10 and 11 anymore.

Do you have DirectX 9 installed? If not, you can get the latest version here. Maybe that will fix the problem.

Do you have DirectX 9 installed? If not, you can get the latest version here. Maybe that will fix the problem.
Thank you for the reply. I found dplay.dll, made a copy of it, and renamed it dplayx.dll and it seems to be working now.
