Hello everyone. There is a Mod for this game on Steam and here I show you how to make it work for the GoG version.

Remember: Modding the game makes it incompatible with your previous saves so you better start with a fresh install which includes deleting the hidden save folders in:
C:/User/"Your Username here"/AppData/LocalLow/Interactive Fate/Shortest Trip To Earth

1. Install Game (+DLC if you have)
2. Play the Tutorial Mission (There is a Bug that makes it impossible to finish with the Mod as of now) and exit the game.
3. Download this file :
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/618775735922065418/730659522812837978/STTE_FFU_BE_v1.0.1.0_ModPack.zip
4: Unpack this zip into your game folder.
5. Download this DDL:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/618775735922065418/730659013615812628/Assembly-CSharp.FFU_BE.mm.dll
6. Put it into the BepInEx/monomod folder that was created in your game folder

7. Enjoy a very different and painful game and please don't blame me for showing you this.

So played this Mod a few days and here are a few first impressions.
Despite that one tutorial bug and a little crash I found it to be a rather fun experience.
Be warned that it is way more grindy due to research and slower combat.

You start with way overpowered ships and a lot of resources. So you practically dance through the first few level but it is a ruse to lull you into a false sense of safety. The first cracks in your dreamworld appear when you enter your first shop and walk up leisurely to the cashier.
"Hello my good man I have 20k creds to spent where are...?"
The guy just waves you off.
"Bargain bin is out the door on the backside of the store."

That is how it feels. Good equipment with a higher tech level is way outside your price range sometimes during the entire game.

The enemy ships begin way underpowered sometimes literally.
Again things change quite dramatically later.

Now a brief and incomplete list of changes:

-Nearly everything is multiplied 10x for example resource gathering or ship HP/SP
(Switching modules during combat? Forget it!)
-Research generates money, exotics and increases your tech level
-Research captured weapons and equipment and built them, too (found out you can choose the research order)
-Nearly all weapons require resources as ammo now
-Point Defence is Good Emperor of the battlefield
-Nukes do way more damage if you get them past the PD
-Stealth devices are useful to keep enemies of your back and can increase your aim
-There are ways to change your crews weapons
-Onboard factories to produce all kinds of resources

And there is a lot more. Look for Steam or Diskord threads that can give you more details like this one.

Have fun
