Almost finished it, and, man, does this game rely on cheap death. Slowly opening upward sliding door? Have an enemy that fires at you as soon as your feet appear! Staircase? Have one guy running down the stairs and another one standing above you! Corner? Have a shotgun blast to the face, through the wall! Feeling safe? Have some guys spawn in the empty hallway behind you. Got 100 Health and 200 Armor? Have a one-shot death by bazooka!
It's like the game is built around the quicksave function.

After all that it's doubly satisfying that Shogo lets you freely gun down civilians (find your kitty? Have a slug!) and knife children for criticals, health and amusement.

Ahhh... the first and second generation 3d shooters loved their choke points did they not?

X)... They did this in large part do to the poor path finding of those first true 3d games. Note the lack of around-the-corner type weaponry, save of course for that grand exception, quake1.
