My mother started to play this game recently but she's not able to save the game. Is it autosave or something?

Read the thread below, titled "Testament of Sherlock Holmes". I had trouble saving throughout the series up til Testament (either saving didn't work or the game crashed when saving). It was fixed with the solution described (the 4GB_patch).
In Crimes and Punishments and the Devil's Daughter onwards it's not possible to save manually. Only autosave. And they used a different engine for those and there were no problems with them for me.
