I noticed that the game felt slow and choppy, so I checked the fps and found that it was running at 34 fps. That obviously shouldn't be happening on this system:

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
AMD RX 5700
32GB DDR4

So I did a little digging and found a setting in the ini config file that seems to fix it.

The file is located in your AppData directory, search for %appdata% in the windows search bar to get there easily:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Wayforward\ShantaeHeroUltimate
The file is named:
wfEngine.ini
The setting is vsync, you want to set this to true:
vsync=true
This forces the game to run at the refresh rate of your monitor. You are good to go if your refresh rate is 60Hz, but if it's higher than that (120Hz, 144Hz, etc) then the game is going to run too fast. Why is the game speed locked to the framerate? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I tried to use Radeon Chill to limit the game to 60fps, but it didn't worked in every scene of the game. So at this point I'm just setting my refresh rate to 60Hz when I player Shantae, and then setting it back to 120Hz when I'm done.

If anyone else has any thoughts on this let me know.

I don´t know why many game developers hide vsync options. It´s so useful. The game runs choppy for me too. So I will try this. Maybe it will work with Seven sirens as well. Another thing that can make the game choppy is having a dual screen setup. I´ve seen comments from other people stating that after disabling a screen the game works better.
