Hello!
Just beat the game. I only got 78% though :*(
Anyway, here are some tips I can give you...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
Refresh dance:
1) One-shots most undead
2) Should be your main source of healing. If it is unavailable because you are out of magic, or you just didn't get it yet, use your food or potions. You want as much food and potions as you can for a particular level. This level has a timer. Having an abundance of consumables for this level allows you to be careless, and being careless lets you zip through the level faster. But if you really need food/potions before you reach this level, then you gotta do what you gotta do.
3) Rag and bones (this the name of an enemy), and skulls lying on the ground. Something interesting happens when you destroy them with the refresh dance, as opposed to just hitting it.
4) Purifies toxic water, allowing you to safely swim though it. Toxic water has the skulls floating around it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
Scimitar (level 3 pikeball):
1) Best item in the game. The effect is passive, which means you can use it while transformed. You can also attack and and have the scimitar active at the same time. There is a card that increases the damage dealt by your hair. So that card, plus max shampoo/silky cream, plus the scimitar, means you'll be dealing enough damage that boss battles won't last long. Spam hair whips and scimitar, and don't worry about taking damage unless you are down to your last 2 or 3 hearts. If you have auto-potions, your concern for your hearts can also go out the window. Although I personally prefer to save these.
2) Lets you clear rooms quickly. Also helps with clustered enemies, and enemies flanking you. This is especially important in that timed level I mentioned.
3) You can kill monsters by either ducking (for monsters directly below you) or jumping. This lets you stay out of danger.
4) Let's you safely kill stationary monsters. Rag and bones, tree trolls, and muck gals are examples of these types of enemies.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
Earthquake dance:
1) Best used against wetmen. One shot for blue wetmen, and two shots for red types.
2) Also sweeps dirt crawlers, along with the dirt they are in. However, it will only get rid of whatever you see on your screen. If there are more beyond that, you'll have to deal with it yourself.
3) Back to that timed level I mentioned. At the ends of each floor (all floors in this level have two), use it to destroy the pots/vases. The timer will freeze when you are doing your dance (regardless of what dance it is). However, it will not open the chest in the room. You need to do that by whipping it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
Misc:
1) You'll occasionally bump in to someone giving a quest, or might come across something you think is noteworthy. When this happens, open your map and screenshot the location. When you need to head back to this area, refer back to the screenshots you took.
2) There are 3 windmills scattered throughout the game. You definitely want to screencap the locations of these.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
That's all I can think of for now. If you have questions, see any mistakes, or would like to add to this list, feel free to reply.
