Hello everyone,

I just bought and downloaded Shadowrun: Hong Kong. But I can't install the game. When I fire up the installer it goes on until the progress bar is about 65% full and then it just... stops. The installer process is still active but the progress bar doesn't move an inch. This happens when I'm online or offline and whether I've just restarted or not.

I'm using my laptop with Win7 (64) and have all the latest drivers installed (this is what I checked first).

Does anyone else have similar problems? I've included a screenshot of the installer window.

I just realized that my free disk space continually shrinks, so maybe it just takes very, very long to extract the installation files... I'll wait another 30 minutes.

I think I'm having the same issue though through GOG Galaxy. It's installing, but it downloaded everything almost 45 minutes ago and it's still not done installing.

Something is definitely borked with the install process. Just what I get for opting for GOG this time instead of Steam.
It shouldn't take 30 mins but I agree it does take a while.

Same place ~65% it seems to stall, mine didn't move for about 4 mins and I'm on an SSD and 4790k, a lot longer than I would expect.

EDIT.. I'm using the installer not the client.

I just opted out of Galaxy and tried the installer. Definitely stalls badly at around 60-65%.

I guess I'll just let it run and see what happens, but it looks like GOG needs to correct something.

Edit: It finally went through. So it might just be a Galaxy issue for me. Still a bit bizarre it takes that long for it to drop everything, but so long as it works that's fine by me.

Mine is stalled out at the same place for over 2 hours. How long did you have to wait? I downloaded a backup copy and installed from there, tried using the galaxy client but it didn't work.
I tried a few times today, getting the same issue.

Nowhere near that long. Probably no more than an hour. Maybe try changing where you're trying to intsall it?
So I restarted the installation several times to see if that helped. I also tried downloading through the Galaxy client (this didn't work - said retrieving info files for several hours and then got a server error message), then finally I re-downloaded the installation files straight from the GOG site through the GOG downloader. The installation stuck again in the same place. I left for 5 HOURS and the installation is still not done, BUT the progress bar is now at around 80%. Installation is not frozen as the ads are still cycling.
I will post here if and when the installation finally completes. Honestly I'm really frustrated. I've been looking forward to this game for months and have spent a good part of today and most of yesterday trying to get the damn installation to finish.

EDIT: Finally done after 6 hours

I've had exactly the same problem. I've email GoG, I hope they have a solution for me, I'd like to play this game.
Using Linux version so can't help much, but perhaps with the /nogui option to the installer ? When I install Windows-only GOG games on Wine, sometimes it works better with /nogui (but then it's probably a Wine issue).
The Shadowrun games have a huge amount (thousands) of small files to install.

Try disabling any virus or malware scanners during the installation, resident scanners looking at every single file may drag out the installation much longer than it needs to be.
