I have tried installing through GOG galaxy and through the GOG downloader but no matter which way I try the game won't start, it will install and show up but clicking on the shortcut or the .exe itself doesn't nothing.
Has anyone else had that problem and was there anything you were able to do to solve it?

Edit" forgot to mark this as a question, I would be happy if someone could change it.

Have you tried running the game in admin mode? It seems that this has fixed the problem for me, since in my case the game was unable to create an additional folder in C\User\Documents\Shadowrun Hong Kong.
I have tried running in administrator mode, I have also tried different compatibility, but nothing worked so far.
Try GOG support. Hopefully they should be able to help you out.
I have connected them 2 days ago when I have bought the game' but I haven't heard from them since. I was hoping someone here could help me before.
Check the "output.log" file in the SRHK_Data folder, which is inside the game folder.

It might give you a clue as to why it's not starting up.

Are you sure that this is the right name of the file, cause I wasn't able to find matching the description.

Yes, it's probably not even getting to the point of starting the game engine if that file doesn't exist.

It's got to be a pretty core problem if that's the case. A problem with the exe file itself, a dependancy such as Direct X, or some other external issue, such as a virus scanner or graphics hook software, keeping it from starting.

I don't know if your reason is the same as mine, but I blocked the game's request to connect to the internet with my software firewall and that prevented it from launching. I just got a black screen with a white mouse pointer. If I allow it to connect to the internet, it works.
