Sorry for the convoluted title, still not quite sure how to explain it in short.

In long, basically what I'm asking is that with me not being a decker, while I'm out and about on missions (or if I have someone tagging along), there some way to utilise their decker skills if I'm not a decker? Like if I come across a terminal which has an option that requires some decker skill (which I don't have). If I have someone in my party who DOES have that amount of skill, there some way to utilise them for that?

Or are world interactions based only on the main player character?

Some options are centered around main character but most of them relying on completing the mission can be obtained by choosing your team decker.

Thanks! Can you explain exactly how? Even in turn-based (combat?) mode, when it becomes the turn of my decker, and I click a terminal for example, the option for the decker thing (eg. "(Decker 4) Hack into the system") is greyed out. And outside of turn-based mode, I'm not sure how to do it anyhow...

This would depend on which game/mod/expansion/UGC you are playing - and even then, which portion.

There are a number of areas where decking skills could be used, generally split into two types: Conversational (where you might find a response in dialog with, for example, "Hack System (Decker 4)"), and where you actually control the decker in the Matrix. In the latter case, these are sometimes prefixed by the former case to ensure you have the skills before you enter the Matrix.

The conversational ones depend on the situation and UGC/game as mentioned. For Dragonfall, in almost all cases (but not every single one!), you have the option of using either your main character or "a decker from your team" - in which case you just need someone on your team that meets the requirements.

The Matrix ones - again in Dragonfall - typically don't have requirements, so you're generally free to choose any decker character in your team that has a cyberdeck. The game will go into turn-based mode and let you jack in with your decker at this point.

Oh and if you're using your Decker in TB mode and that option is greyed out, your decker either:
- doesn't meet the skill requirements (e.g. decker 4)
- doesn't currently have a cyberdeck (though this is not always required)
- the option isn't available in turn-based mode (though this tends to be rarer, and will generally notify you).

Dragonfall was pretty good about allowing a team member to handle the decking work, but IIRC Dead Man's Switch was much less consistent about it; you *might* be able to use a team member if the quest writer remembered to allow it.

I can't remember how picky it was in the actual campaign - they may have added the option to allow any team member to deck in most cases where an actual matrix map existed.

For UGC, it's always down to the quest writer as there is no "automatic" mechanic for this built in.
