There appears to be a place for the code, but there is no actual code there, as far as I can tell.

That's strange. The background is a much darker grey for me. I wonder why your background is lighter?

Did you tried to select it with your mouse by clicking & dragging the cursor? Or maybe clicking & pressing Ctrl+A.
